WASHINGTON, D.C. — A bold mobile trailer flashing neon “THC Sold Here” signs was shut down by police Friday night in the Navy Yard neighborhood after officers discovered a stash of illegal drugs inside, officials said.

Around 8:50 p.m., First District officers spotted the trailer illegally parked on the Unit block of M Street SE and approached the operator. After a brief interview, police determined the seller lacked a permit to distribute marijuana or any other controlled substance.

Officers seized the trailer and recovered roughly 340 grams of narcotics, including marijuana, THC edibles, cocaine, hashish, and psilocybin mushrooms.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Abel Adem Delta of Alexandria, Va., was arrested at the scene.

Charges filed after street-side drug bust

Delta faces felony charges including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, cocaine, hashish, and psilocybin mushrooms, police said.

Authorities credited the patrol officers with acting swiftly after noticing the neon signage advertising THC for sale.

No injuries were reported during the arrest.

The trailer and all drugs were seized as evidence pending further legal proceedings.
