BALTIMORE, Md. — A group of teenagers, including three wearing ankle monitors, was arrested Tuesday after a carjacking left a 41-year-old woman injured in the 900 block of West 36th Street, police said.
Northern District officers responded around 11:08 a.m. after the woman was assaulted and had her car keys forcibly taken. She was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Regional Auto Theft Taskforce (RATT) units located the stolen vehicle with the suspects inside around 2:20 p.m. in Towson on Kenilworth Drive.
The suspects — two 14-year-old males, a 15-year-old male, a 13-year-old female, and a 17-year-old male — were taken into custody.
17-year-old charged as an adult
The 17-year-old was transported to Central Booking and charged as an adult with multiple counts of assault and carjacking. The remaining four juveniles were charged at the Juvenile Justice Center.
Investigators revealed that three of the five suspects were already under court-ordered monitoring from prior offenses.
The investigation is ongoing.
