BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Officer Nathan J. Mikulski was officially sworn in as the newest member of the Bethlehem Township Police Department during a recent Board of Commissioners public meeting attended by his family and friends.
Mikulski, 22, is a lifelong resident of Bethlehem Township and a 2021 graduate of Freedom High School. He is the son of Bernard and Kelly Mikulski.
After high school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Shepherd University in West Virginia in spring 2024. As part of his senior year requirements, he completed an internship with the Bethlehem Township Police Department.
Mikulski was hired as a police recruit in November 2024 and attended the Allentown Police Academy from January to June 2025. He graduated as part of the 115th training class and earned his Act 120 Municipal Police Officer certification.
He is now undergoing a 12-week field training program with the department, where he will work alongside experienced officers to learn department protocols and procedures.
All new officers are subject to a one-year probationary period before becoming permanent members of the force.
Mikulski now begins the next phase of his law enforcement career in the community where he was raised.
