Crooks steal shoes off victim’s feet in wild DC street attack

Washington, DC — A group of suspects is being sought after police say they assaulted a person and stole their shoes in a robbery outside a Northwest DC business late Sunday night.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. June 22 in the 1300 block of U Street, Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Investigators said multiple suspects approached the victim, physically attacked them, and took their shoes before fleeing.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects, which police released Wednesday to seek the public’s help in identifying them.

Officials did not immediately report the extent of the victim’s injuries or what type of footwear was stolen.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests and convictions in connection with the robbery.
