Wilkes-Barre, PA — A Dickson City man with an active U.S. Marshals Service warrant was arrested Tuesday morning after officers say he tried to lie about his identity during a traffic stop.
Police said they stopped a vehicle at about 10:57 a.m. near South Pennsylvania Avenue and East Northampton Street and made contact with the driver, later identified as 46-year-old Eliud Perez-Santiago.
Perez-Santiago initially gave officers a false name, but investigators confirmed his true identity during the stop. A records check revealed an active arrest warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Perez-Santiago was taken into custody at the scene and transported to City Headquarters for processing.
No further details about the original warrant were released by authorities.
