Man fatally shot in early morning Brooklyn shooting outside Rockaway Parkway building

BROOKLYN, NY — A 31-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest Thursday morning outside a building on Rockaway Parkway in East Flatbush, according to police.

Officers from the 67th Precinct responded to a 911 call around 7:31 a.m. and arrived at 726 Rockaway Parkway, where they were told the victim had been shot by an unidentified suspect who fled southbound on Ditmas Avenue.

The victim, identified as Hakeim Hutchinson, was transported by EMS to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting remains unknown. The suspect has not been identified.

Police are continuing to investigate and are seeking information from the public related to the incident.
