Man sought for lewd act in Manhattan apartment elevator

MANHATTAN, NY — Police are searching for an unidentified man who exposed himself and performed a lewd act in front of a woman inside a residential building elevator in Kips Bay on Saturday evening.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. inside a building near East 29th Street and 1st Avenue. A 27-year-old woman told police that the man followed her into the elevator before getting down on his knees, exposing himself, and committing the act.

The suspect fled the location immediately after and remains at large.

The victim was not physically harmed during the incident, authorities said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.
