Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Manhattan for petit larceny

MANHATTAN, NY — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested Thursday evening in Lower Manhattan on theft-related charges, police said.

Regine J. Duval, a 43-year-old police officer, was taken into custody around 5:50 p.m. within the confines of the 1st Precinct. She was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

The NYPD did not release details regarding the circumstances of the arrest or the items allegedly involved.

Duval was not on duty at the time of the incident, and the department stated the matter is under internal review.
