Toms River to launch summer movie series with Finding Nemo screening Tuesday night

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River will kick off its Neighborhood Movie Night in the Park series on Tuesday with a showing of Finding Nemo at Silverton Park.

The event, hosted by Mayor Maurice “Mo” Rodrick and the Toms River Recreation Department, begins at 7 p.m. on July 8. It marks the first screening of the summer 2025 outdoor film series across township parks.

The movie will be shown on a Jumbotron screen designed to be clearly visible in daylight, allowing families to enjoy the film earlier in the evening. “Holding the movie at 7pm allows all family members to come out and enjoy the movie before their bedtime,” the township stated in a public post.

Silverton Park’s ball field will serve as the viewing area. Residents are encouraged to arrive early with blankets and chairs to claim a spot.

An ice cream truck will be on site offering refreshments during the screening.

More information on upcoming events can be found on the township’s Recreation & Parks page at tomsrivertownship.com.
