Two men arrested after planning ‘Skibidi Massacre” on Capitol Hill

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Two men are in custody after federal and local authorities intercepted threatening social media messages that appeared to outline plans for a potential mass shooting, officials said.

Isaiah Oglesby and James Goolsby were arrested following a joint investigation by the FBI and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began after a tip was submitted by a woman who reported disturbing posts seen on her boyfriend’s Instagram account.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant on the social media accounts of both suspects after being contacted by the FBI regarding credible threats of violence.

In messages obtained by investigators, Oglesby reportedly wrote, “Wanna plan an attack?” and “It better be a bloodbath of every corrupt politician in Capitol Hill.” Goolsby allegedly responded, “Totally Dude, Skibidi Massacre,” and “I want to eradicate them.”

Authorities said the arrests were made before any incident occurred, and no weapons or concrete attack plans were discovered during the search.

Both men were booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Charges have not yet been publicly detailed.

The investigation remains ongoing with cooperation between local and federal agencies.

A girlfriend of one of the men alerted the FBI of their plot.
