ABERDEEN, N.J. — Police are investigating multiple reports of fraudulent business practices involving HVAC contractor Lance Minnoia, who has been charged with two counts of theft by deception, authorities said.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, Minnoia allegedly accepted upfront payments for heating and cooling services but failed to return to complete the work. In some instances, residents reported that Minnoia ceased all communication after receiving deposits.
“These reports involve substantial financial loss to residents who trusted this individual to perform essential home services,” the department said.
Chief Matthew Lloyd stated, “This type of activity not only causes financial harm but also erodes trust within the community. We are committed to thoroughly investigating this matter and holding anyone accountable who is found to be engaging in fraudulent behavior.”
Police are encouraging any residents who believe they may have been affected to come forward and file a report. The investigation remains ongoing.
