Philadelphia Mass Shooting Death Count Climbs to Three as Police Continue Search for Suspects

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying multiple suspects connected to a mass shooting early Monday that left three men dead and nine others wounded on Etting Street in South Philadelphia’s 17th District.

The shooting occurred around 12:57 a.m. Monday on the 1500 block of S. Etting Street. Police responding to a call for a person with a gun found multiple gunshot victims at the scene. Three individuals were later pronounced dead.

Zahir Wylie, 23, of Marilyn Road, was shot in the chest and died at 1:30 a.m. Jason Reese, 19, of Media Street, was shot in the head and pronounced dead one minute later. Azir Harris, 24, of College Avenue, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the back and was pronounced dead at 2:16 a.m.

Among the nine other victims, a 19-year-old male who suffered two gunshot wounds to the head remains in critical condition after being transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Other victims ranged in age from 15 to 24 and suffered gunshot wounds to the arm, leg, and torso. A 23-year-old female was struck in the elbow, thigh, and calf.

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance footage related to the incident and are seeking assistance in identifying the suspects shown.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. “If you see these suspects do not approach, contact 911 immediately,” the department advised in a statement.
