NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. — A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in New Windsor for the July 9 drawing, the New York Lottery announced Wednesday.
The winning third-prize ticket was purchased at Mobil Mart, located at 1001 Route 94. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the red Power Ball to earn the $50,000 prize.
Powerball drawings take place three times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — with numbers drawn from a field of one to 69 and the red Power Ball from one to 26.
Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
The New York Lottery continues to be the highest-grossing lottery system in North America, contributing $3.8 billion last fiscal year to support public schools across the state.
