Man fatally shot at Gloucester Township apartment, investigation ongoing

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 53-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday at an apartment complex in Gloucester Township, authorities said.

Officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to the Lakeview Apartment complex on the 500 block of Lower Landing Road at approximately 4:58 p.m. for a report of a shooting, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins.

Upon arrival, officers found Anthony Sanflippo, of Gloucester Township, dead from a gunshot wound in the doorway of his apartment.

Officials have not released information regarding a suspect or motive. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Gloucester Township Police Department are jointly investigating the incident.

“This investigation is active and ongoing,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

Authorities have not said whether the shooting was targeted or random. No arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement, though no public appeal has yet been made.
