Armed Robbers Snatch $5,500 in Cash and a Necklace in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — A 69-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday while walking along West 172nd Street, according to police.

The incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. near 11 West 172nd Street, where the victim was approached by two unidentified males. Authorities said one of the suspects displayed a firearm while the second forcibly removed several personal items from the man.

The stolen items included a necklace valued at approximately $2,000, a cell phone, and about $3,500 in cash. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark-colored Honda, traveling westbound on 172nd Street toward an unknown location.

There were no injuries reported, according to the NYPD.

The first suspect is described as a male last seen wearing a white baseball hat, black face mask, black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a male wearing a black face mask, green sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and dark-colored sneakers.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
