Gun-wielding SUV driver opens fire in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A driver reported being targeted in a roadside shooting late Tuesday night after a gunman in a black SUV pulled alongside his vehicle and fired a shot, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

The incident occurred around 11:10 p.m. on July 8 while the victim was traveling eastbound on Route 100 near Oakwood Road. The victim told officers that the SUV approached on the driver’s side, and the suspect pointed a silver handgun at him before firing a single round.

After the gunshot, the SUV swerved off Route 100 onto Oakwood Road and was lost from view. The victim was accompanied by a passenger at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Eastern District detectives are investigating the case.
