Brooklyn teen last seen leaving home Tuesday reported missing

BROOKLYN — A 16-year-old girl from Brownsville has been reported missing after she was last seen leaving her home on Rockaway Avenue earlier this week, police said.

Maria Lassend was last seen at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the NYPD. She left her residence at 730 Rockaway Avenue and has not been seen since.

Lassend is described as a white female with a light complexion and slim build, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has blonde hair.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing black shorts, a green tank top, and white sneakers.

“It was reported to police that the missing was last seen leaving her residence on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 1210 hours,” the NYPD said.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the circumstances of her disappearance. The investigation remains ongoing.
