The New York City Police Department is searching for a man wanted in connection with two reported sexual abuse incidents that occurred over consecutive nights in Manhattan’s 1st Precinct area.
The first incident occurred around 2:06 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, near the southeast corner of West Houston Street and MacDougal Street. According to police, a 25-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified man who displayed a cellphone with a map and asked for directions. The man then allegedly grabbed the victim’s breast and waist before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.
The second incident took place around 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, in the vicinity of Thompson Street and West Houston Street. Police say a 26-year-old woman was approached from behind, grabbed, and forced to the ground by an unidentified man who then touched her private area over her clothes. The suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and white sneakers.
Police have released an image of the individual and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
