27-year-old man fatally shot in Brooklyn near Kent and Dekalb

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night near the intersection of Kent Avenue and Dekalb Avenue in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.

Officers from the 79th Precinct and Police Service Area 3 responded to a 911 call around 9:23 p.m. reporting a man shot in the area. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Emergency medical personnel transported the man to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
