Airmont, NY – Juan Buezo-Hernandez, a 52-year-old resident of Airmont, New York, pleaded guilty to first-degree rape, a class B felony, on July 3, 2025, in Rockland County Court before Judge Kevin J. Russo, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.
Buezo-Hernandez admitted to engaging in vaginal sexual intercourse with a six-year-old girl during the summer of 2015 at a residence in Spring Valley.
The crime came to light in early 2025 when the victim, now older, disclosed the abuse to a family member, who promptly notified law enforcement.
The defendant faces nine years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision. His sentencing is scheduled for October 8, 2025. Upon conviction, Buezo-Hernandez will be required to register as a sex offender, with a Sex Offender Registration hearing to be held before his release from prison.
The case was investigated by the Spring Valley Police Department, with support from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit. District Attorney Walsh commended the collaborative effort, emphasizing the commitment to justice for victims of such heinous crimes.
