Army tactical vehicle rear-ends semi on I-95, causing traffic delays near exit 10

A U.S. Army Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) rear-ended a semi tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 near exit 10 in New Jersey over the weekend, according to local authorities.

The crash led to a traffic backup and delays in the area as emergency responders and military personnel cleared the scene. No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the collision has not yet been disclosed.

The JLTV is a military vehicle developed to replace the aging Humvee fleet. Designed for improved protection and off-road performance, the JLTV combines mobility and survivability, offering better armor and more advanced technology than its predecessor. Built by Oshkosh Defense, the vehicle is used for a range of missions, including troop transport, command and control, and reconnaissance.

The $400,000 military vehicle suffered severe damage.

“The crash caused a traffic backup and delays,” local officials confirmed.

The Army has gradually fielded JLTVs across its units since 2019, deploying thousands across both domestic and international operations.

No citations or further developments have been announced as of Monday.
