Four teenagers were arrested Thursday morning after Delaware State Police linked them to a burglary at a Dunkin’ location in Bear.
Troopers responded around 5:00 a.m. to the Dunkin’ at 1923 Pulaski Highway after receiving a report of a break-in. Investigators said two male suspects entered the store through a window while two others stood outside as lookouts. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the registers before all four fled the scene.
The suspects were described as Black males in their teens, wearing dark athletic-style clothing.
At approximately 6:20 a.m., New Castle County Police responded to Scotland Drive and Kildoon Drive for reports of suspicious persons. Officers located a 14-year-old male and transported him to his Newark residence. While there, they observed three additional teens matching the burglary suspects’ descriptions and contacted state police.
Delaware State Police confirmed the four teens matched surveillance footage and noted physical evidence at the residence that tied them to the burglary.
The teens were taken to Troop 2, charged, and arraigned in Family Court. All were released to their parents on a $1,200 unsecured bond.
“Troopers responded and confirmed that the four teens matched the suspects seen in video surveillance,” police said.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
