Man slaps woman on Greenpoint street and flees, NYPD says

Police are searching for a man who slapped a woman from behind on a Greenpoint street before fleeing the scene, authorities said.

The incident occurred Saturday, July 5, at around 7:15 p.m. in front of 849 Manhattan Avenue, according to the NYPD.

A 38-year-old female victim was walking when an unidentified male approached her and slapped her buttocks over her clothing. He then fled southbound on Manhattan Avenue on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, believed to be in his 40s. He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual.
