VINELAND, N.J. — A 67-year-old man died Monday morning after being stabbed multiple times in Vineland, and a suspect was arrested shortly after the attack, authorities said.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on July 14, officers responded to reports of a stabbing in progress near 771 South East Avenue. When police arrived, they found the victim, identified as Ronald Shields, suffering from numerous stab wounds and in critical condition.
Shields was airlifted to a hospital in Atlantic City, where he was later pronounced dead.
Based on witness descriptions provided at the scene, officers located the suspect a short distance away. Authorities confirmed that the individual was arrested and charged with multiple offenses related to the fatal stabbing. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the State will file for pretrial detention.
