Newark police seek suspect in Vesey Street auto burglary

NEWARK, N.J. — Newark Public Safety officials are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of breaking into a vehicle inside a parking garage near Vesey Street and Hermon Street late last week.

The burglary occurred sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning. According to the victim, the car was parked at approximately 9 p.m. on July 10. When the owner returned the following day, the glove box and center console had been opened, and a Smart Mirror valued at $300, along with other personal items, was missing.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. released a photo of the suspect and urged the public to share any information.
