CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — Vice President JD Vance participated in a hike with U.S. Marines at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton last month, joining members of the Headquarters and Support Battalion on June 11.
Vance, a Marine Corps veteran, led the hike to emphasize camaraderie and unit cohesion, according to a release from the base. The activity is a standard part of Marine training designed to build endurance and resilience.
The hike took place on base grounds, with Vance walking alongside active-duty Marines. The event was documented by Sgt. Edgar Rafael of the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Vice President’s visit highlighted the continued connection between national leadership and military personnel.
