BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Police Department’s all-women drone team recently participated in a multi-agency DRONERESPONDERS event in Dover, Delaware, highlighting the expanding role of unmanned aircraft systems in law enforcement.
The department announced the event Tuesday on social media, noting that its female drone pilots demonstrated how drones can be used effectively in public safety operations and engaged in discussions with other agencies about law enforcement applications of the technology.
“BPD’s All-Women Drone Program recently attended a joint agency DRONERESPONDERS Event in Dover, Delaware,” the department posted. “The women pilots showcased the incredible versatility of drones for public safety use and engaged in meaningful conversations about UAS use in law enforcement.”
The event brought together agencies from the region to collaborate on drone strategies and innovations.
