ALLENTOWN, PA — A suspected drug trafficker operating out of Allentown has been arrested after investigators seized over six kilograms of cocaine, six firearms — including a ghost gun with a high-capacity magazine — and $35,000 in cash, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.
Angel F. Gil, 32, faces felony drug trafficking charges and six counts of possession of prohibited firearms due to prior felony convictions for drug and weapons offenses.
The arrest followed an investigation by the Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigations, which targeted Gil’s activity in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Search warrants executed Wednesday led agents to two residences — one on Greenleaf Street in Allentown and one on Bangor Road in Nazareth — where they recovered one kilogram of cocaine, three handguns, and cash.
Further searches of two vehicles linked to Gil uncovered five additional kilograms of cocaine hidden in trap compartments, two more handguns, a ghost gun, ammunition, and $35,000.
“This defendant is a repeat offender who possessed deadly weapons… to protect his highly-profitable drug trade,” said Attorney General Sunday.
Gil was arraigned the same day, with bail set at $500,000. The case is being prosecuted by the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
