Driver surrounded and robbed at knifepoint during Bronx street ambush

BRONX, N.Y. — A 32-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint early Sunday after being boxed in by multiple vehicles at a Bronx intersection, police said.

The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. near Jerome Avenue and East 213th Street. According to the report, the victim was operating his vehicle when an unidentified individual driving another vehicle pulled in front of him and blocked his path.

As the victim opened his car door to assess the situation, several individuals exited vehicles from multiple directions and surrounded him. One of the suspects displayed a knife, while another forcibly removed a chain from around the victim’s neck.

The group then fled the location in their vehicles, traveling northbound on Jerome Avenue. The stolen chain is valued at approximately $1,700. No injuries were reported.

One of the suspects is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a green hat.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
