SOMERS POINT, N.J. — A 14-year-old boy from Egg Harbor Township died Thursday night following a collision between his e-bike and a vehicle at Maryland Avenue and the bike path, according to the Somers Point Police Department.

Police responded to the scene at 7:58 p.m. The teen was initially transported to AtlantiCare Trauma Center by Egg Harbor Township Rescue and later airlifted to Cooper Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, 47-year-old Laryssa Foschini of Philadelphia, and her three juvenile passengers were not injured.

Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Somers Point Police Department with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
