OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 45-year-old Oakhurst man is facing multiple charges after allegedly robbing a 7-Eleven at knifepoint and stealing a luxury SUV early Monday morning, police said.

At approximately 3:14 a.m. on July 21, officers responded to the 7-Eleven at 811 West Park Avenue for a reported armed robbery. The suspect, identified as Anthony Bowe, allegedly threatened the cashier with a knife and demanded cash from the register before fleeing the scene.

Shortly after, police received a report of a stolen Mercedes-Benz G63 SUV from another 7-Eleven location at 45 Monmouth Road in the Oakhurst section of the township. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a stop, but Bowe allegedly failed to comply and led officers on a pursuit through multiple jurisdictions.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed upon re-entering Ocean Township, where officers apprehended the suspect. Bowe was charged with armed robbery, terroristic threats, weapons offenses, and motor vehicle theft.

He was processed and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Authorities say he will be remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a court appearance.
