Lottery fever grips Maryland with $50K prizes popping statewide

BALTIMORE, MD — Maryland Lottery players had a lucrative week, with six different $50,000 prizes awarded across the state between July 14 and 20 — including a third-tier Powerball win in Elkridge.

The Elkridge ticket, sold at royal farms on Lark Brown Drive, was part of the July 14 Powerball drawing and has already been claimed. The other $50,000 winners came from tickets purchased in Clements, Frederick, Gaithersburg, Olney, and Temple Hills, with winnings spread across various games including Pick 5, scratch-offs, and Bonus Match 5.

In total, the Maryland Lottery paid out nearly $30 million in prizes during the week, including 28 tickets worth $10,000 or more. Notable wins included two separate $40,000 Keno hits, a $24,640 Racetrax ticket in Laurel, and a $20,000 Mega Millions ticket sold in Hyattsville, which remained unclaimed as of July 21.

The Powerball jackpot for the July 21 drawing is estimated at $308 million.
