SUITLAND, MD — A man who was shot near the bus bay at Suitland Metro Station Saturday evening has died, setting off a joint investigation between transit and local authorities.
The shooting happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. on July 19. Officers with the Metro Transit Police arrived at the station to find the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Police have not released the man’s identity, and no arrests have been made. Investigators say they are still piecing together what led up to the shooting at one of the region’s busiest transit centers.
Metro Transit Police are working alongside the Prince George’s County Police Department as the search for a suspect continues.
Officials are urging anyone who was in the area or may have information about the shooting to come forward.
