SUV driver opens fire during high beam argument with woman

WILKES-BARRE, PA — A heated exchange over high beams ended in gunfire late Friday night after a man allegedly fired a shot during an altercation with a woman on West River Street, according to police.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 11:42 p.m. on July 18 after receiving reports of gunshots. A 46-year-old woman told police she confronted the suspect about the headlights on his SUV when the situation escalated.

According to the victim, the suspect retrieved a firearm and fired a single round in her direction, striking an apartment building. She was not injured. The man then fled the area in a silver SUV.

The suspect is described as a Black male of unknown age. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been announced.
