Chillicothe player bags $300K lottery win

CHILLICOTHE, OH — A lucky player has claimed a $300,000 top prize from the Ohio Lottery’s $5 Special Edition Cashword scratch-off, officials announced Wednesday.

The winning ticket was sold at Par Mar #111, located at 21 Star Drive in Chillicothe. The retailer will receive a $3,000 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.

The player, who has not been identified, will take home about $216,000 after federal and state withholdings. The game launched with multiple top prizes, and three $300,000 prizes remain unclaimed along with many other cash awards.

Special Edition Cashword offers overall odds of 1 in 4.11 of winning a prize, while the top prize carries odds of 1 in 1.67 million.
