Two teens hospitalized after dirt bike crash in Manchester’s Greenwood Forest

MANCHESTER, N.J. — Two 18-year-old riders were seriously injured Sunday evening following a dirt bike crash on a wooded trail in Manchester Township, police said.

Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to the area of Hay Road in the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area after receiving a report of a two-vehicle dirt bike collision. At the scene, police found a Kawasaki dirt bike with heavy front-end damage lying across the roadway.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Kawasaki was traveling north when a Yamaha dirt bike attempted a U-turn on the trail, resulting in a collision. The impact caused the Kawasaki rider to be ejected.

The Kawasaki rider was identified as William Vandergrift II of Browns Mills, and the Yamaha rider as Dominic Valdivieso, also of Browns Mills.

Emergency personnel treated both riders on scene. Vandergrift was transported by Manchester Township EMS to Community Medical Center, while Valdivieso was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital. Both are currently listed in stable condition.

The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Gainey of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
