GREENSBURG, PA — A 25-year-old man from Unity Township has been sentenced to jail for robbing a Latrobe-area pizza shop at knifepoint last year, the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Austin Lewis pleaded guilty in May to charges of robbery, terroristic threats, and theft in connection with the January 2024 armed robbery of Sugar Shack Pizza & Pastry Shop on Garfield Road.
Lewis was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Timothy Krieger to serve 11½ to 23 months in jail, followed by probation. He will not receive credit for time already served since his arrest.
Authorities said Lewis fled the scene with less than $170 and was later apprehended near his Unity Township residence by Pennsylvania State Police.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Mains.
