BOWIE, Md. — A Maryland woman is facing murder charges after police say she shot and killed her husband during an argument at their Bowie home early Saturday morning.
Nicole Lanett Ward, 50, is accused of fatally shooting 53-year-old Damian Ward after allegedly discovering photos and messages that she believed indicated he was having an extramarital affair, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Officers responded to the couple’s residence in the 13200 block of Old Chapel Road around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. They found the victim inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute.
Nicole Ward has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related offenses. She is currently being held without bond at the Department of Corrections.
