Sound Beach man sentenced to 8 years for guns and cocaine in home with child

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. — A Sound Beach man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug and weapons charges stemming from a January raid at his home, which he shared with a 7-year-old child, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced Friday.

Daniel Fink, 23, was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty in June to two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and several related charges.

On January 15, 2025, Suffolk County Police executed a search warrant at Fink’s residence. Officers found Fink, his girlfriend, and her 7-year-old child at the home during the search. Inside, police recovered four loaded semiautomatic pistols — including a 9mm Luger and two Glocks — a loaded assault weapon, two loaded revolvers, and four high-capacity ammunition feeding devices.

In addition to firearms, investigators found cocaine, MDMA, psilocybin mushrooms, ketamine, clonazepam, buprenorphine, and oxycodone, along with digital scales and drug packaging materials.

“This defendant’s decision to store illegal narcotics and firearms where a 7-year-old child was present is unconscionable,” District Attorney Tierney stated.

Fink pleaded guilty on June 12 before Acting Supreme Court Justice Richard I. Horowitz. He was also convicted of eight counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Emma Pearce of the Narcotics Bureau, with the investigation conducted by the Suffolk County Police Department Narcotics Section.
