Two men shot on West Philly street, one critically injured

PHILADELPHIA — A double shooting in West Philadelphia left one man critically injured and another hospitalized Friday night, police said.

At approximately 9:27 p.m., officers from the 18th District responded to reports of gunfire on the 5500 block of Walton Avenue. Upon arrival, they found two men wounded on the road.

A 33-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the right side of his torso and his left upper leg. He was rushed by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

The second victim, a 49-year-old man, was shot in the right leg and taken to the same hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
