Man injured in Bronx subway assault after early morning dispute on 2 train

BRONX, NY – A 38-year-old man suffered facial injuries after a verbal dispute on a southbound 2 train turned violent early Friday morning at the Bronx Park East station, according to police.

The incident occurred around 2:55 a.m., when the victim was riding the train and became involved in an argument with an unidentified male. The confrontation escalated, and the suspect struck the victim in the head, causing a facial fracture and laceration.

The assailant exited the train and fled the area. Authorities said he remains at large.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, green pants, and black sneakers.
