13-year-old charged in botched Florida Avenue stickup

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery last month in Northwest, police said.

The incident happened Wednesday, June 11, in the 700 block of Florida Avenue. Investigators said three juvenile males approached a victim and demanded money, with one suspect implying he had a weapon. The suspects threatened the victim, who managed to escape without injury or loss of property.

On Thursday, July 24, members of the Third District Crime Suppression Team arrested the 13-year-old suspect of Northwest under a D.C. Superior Court Custody Order. He was charged with Attempt to Commit Robbery.

Two other suspects remain at large.
