Convenience store ticket turns into five-figure win in NY Lottery

HEMPSTEAD, NY – A lucky player has won $16,561 after purchasing a top-prize TAKE 5 ticket for the Jul 28 midday drawing at a local convenience store.

The winning ticket was sold at Kings Peninsula C-Store, located at 380 Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead. TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39, with drawings televised daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The New York Lottery contributed $3.8 billion to support public schools statewide during fiscal year 2023-2024.
