Fort Lauderdale cops hunt trio in Las Olas parking garage shooting

Fort Lauderdale police seek suspects in parking garage shooting that injured three

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects involved in a shooting that injured three people last month on the top floor of a parking garage near the beach.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, at the garage located at 200 Las Olas Circle.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found evidence of a shooting, but no victims were located at the scene. Investigators later learned that three individuals — 19-year-old Richard Murray, 18-year-old Aamori McGann, and 19-year-old Janacia Davis — had been transported by private vehicles to Broward Health Medical Center.

McGann and Davis were treated and released, while Murray remained hospitalized for a longer period due to the severity of his injuries.

Police say the victims were among a group gathered at the garage when several armed suspects approached and began firing. Surveillance video from the structure captured the shooting, and detectives were able to recover a black sedan believed to be used by the suspects.

Still images taken from the footage show three unidentified Black males:

  • Suspect 1: Wearing a black mask, gray shirt with black sleeves, dark pants, and black sneakers
  • Suspect 2: Wearing a black mask, black hoodie, dark pants, and black slides
  • Suspect 3: Wearing a white tank top, floral shorts, black and white sneakers, with short hair

Detectives say all current leads have been exhausted and are urging the public to review the surveillance footage and images for possible identification of the suspects. The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/IO0ocg-1AgQ.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Erik Kirtman at 954-547-0429 or submit anonymous tips to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
