Man killed in late-night shooting on Laurel roadway

LAUREL, MD — The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting Friday night that left a 33-year-old man dead in the unincorporated section of Laurel.

Officers responded around 10:20 p.m. on July 25 to the 13200 block of Laurel Bowie Road, where they found William Denard Askew of Greenbelt in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify those responsible. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
