Teen runaway tracked to Motel 6 with wanted man she met on TikTok

STAFFORD, Va. — A 19-year-old man wanted out of Delaware was arrested Monday night after deputies found him at a Motel 6 with a juvenile who had been reported missing from Pennsylvania, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy T.W. Jenkins responded to the Warrenton Road motel around 8:10 p.m. after receiving information about a runaway. The pair reportedly met on TikTok and were planning to travel to Florida.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and being a fugitive from justice. He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The juvenile’s family was notified.

The incident was one of several in Stafford County’s daily police blotter:

  • White Pine Circle, 2:06 a.m. Monday — Deputies detained an intoxicated man who reportedly destroyed property after an issue with his bike. He was charged with public intoxication, destruction of property, and simple assault.
  • Rappahannock Regional Jail, 6:53 p.m. Monday — Two separate assaults occurred within the jail. One inmate assaulted another and was charged with assault and battery. In a second incident, an inmate attacked two others and was charged with additional counts of assault.
  • Richmond Highway and Hope Road, Sunday night — A DUI arrest was made after a pickup truck nearly sideswiped a deputy’s patrol car. The driver admitted to drinking and had a loaded firearm. He was charged and held until sober.
  • Sarrington Court, Sunday morning — An Uber driver was scammed by a caller posing as Uber Support, who threatened to blacklist him unless he provided personal and financial information.
  • Holly Knoll Court, Sunday evening — A Walmart delivery driver struck a garage door and fled. He was later charged with hit and run.
  • Walmart on Garrisonville Road, 11:45 a.m. Monday — A known shoplifter walked out with a backpack full of deodorant and now faces a new larceny charge.
  • Lookout Way, 8:04 a.m. Monday — A man was found passed out in a car with an open wine cooler. After pretending to fall back asleep, he was arrested for public intoxication.
