JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A 17-year-old charged in connection with the 2024 fatal shooting of 24-year-old Resheed Wallace in Jersey City will be prosecuted as an adult, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Wednesday.
The teen, identified as Kaison Brown of South Amboy, faces multiple charges including murder, felony murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and weapons offenses.
Wallace was shot on May 10, 2024, near Pearsall Avenue and Garfield Avenue. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Two others have been charged in the case: Makiyy Randolph, 22, of Paterson, who was arrested in July 2024 following a brief foot pursuit and faces the same charges as Brown along with obstruction and resisting arrest, and a 14-year-old female who is charged as a juvenile with murder, felony murder, robbery, conspiracy, and weapons offenses.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit for the investigation.
