Shooting erupts at North Philly bar leaving one injured

PHILADELPHIA — A man was shot inside a bar in North Philadelphia late Monday afternoon, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances of the attack.

Authorities said the shooting took place around 4:22 p.m. inside an establishment located on the 2800 block of North Lawrence Street. Responding officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to Temple University Hospital.

He is currently listed in stable condition, according to police.

Details about what led to the shooting remain unclear. Investigators have not released any information on potential suspects or motives.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is leading the ongoing probe into the incident.

A spokesperson for the department stated only: “The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.”

The block where the shooting occurred is a densely populated residential and commercial area in North Philadelphia, which has experienced multiple firearm-related incidents in recent months.

Police have not indicated whether the shooting was targeted or random.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.

The Shooting Investigation Group continues to collect evidence and review surveillance footage in connection with the case.
