Leonia first responders handle two fires simultaneously, assist NYPD tribute

LEONIA, N.J. — On Thursday evening, Leonia emergency crews responded to two separate incidents, assisting with a car fire on Route 95 and a structure fire on Bergen Boulevard.

Leonia Police and Fire Department Company No. 1 assisted New Jersey State Police with the car fire, while the Leonia Volunteer Fire Department was simultaneously helping the Fort Lee Fire Department battle a structure fire nearby.

In addition to managing both emergencies, LFD also participated in honoring a fallen NYPD officer.
