Man shot inside Philadelphia barbershop as police search for gunman

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Saturday morning haircut turned into a crime scene when gunfire erupted inside a Germantown Avenue barbershop, leaving a man wounded and rushed to the hospital as detectives work to uncover a motive.

The shooting happened around 9:42 a.m. inside a business on the 3200 block of Germantown Avenue.

The victim, an adult male, was taken by private vehicle to Temple University Hospital. Police have not released details on his condition, and no arrests have been made.

Authorities said the motive remains unclear, and the Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group has taken the lead in the case. Investigators have not said whether the gunman and victim knew each other, nor have they disclosed how many shots were fired.

Detectives were canvassing the area for surveillance footage and witnesses as the barbershop remained taped off through the morning. Officials have not identified the victim pending updates on his medical condition.
